USDA: Civil Rights app now available
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Office of the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights is unveiling the USDA Civil Rights mobile application—a new app for Apple and Android devices to provide USDA employees and customers information and resources about federal civil rights. This Civil Rights app is the first of its kind in the federal government and reaffirms the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to ensure civil rights for all Americans.
This app brings to users’ fingertips civil rights news, frequently asked questions, a video library of short films, and easy access to USDA and other federal offices specializing in federal civil rights. The app provides information about how to file a USDA program or equal employment opportunity complaint and includes links to contacts and resources for accessibility and assistive technologies, reasonable accommodation, the USDA ethics app and more. It also links to the USDA Technology & Accessible Resources Give Employment Today Center, where USDA employees with disabilities are provided assistive technologies and services and access to USDA reasonable accommodation coordinators.
USDA is dedicated to increasing access to critical resources to inform our workforce and educate our stakeholders and customers about civil rights. This application was designed to provide a one-stop-shop for USDA employees and customers and will continue to grow and evolve to better serve our internal and external customers. The app will feature a feedback form to capture input on ways to improve its content and usability.
Anyone with Android devices (Google Play) or Apple devices (Apple app store) may access the app now. The mobile app will be automatically installed on USDA employee’s work mobile devices. If you have questions or comments, please contact Jessica.Proctor@usda.gov with the subject line “Civil Rights Mobile App.” On behalf of OASCR, thank you for your feedback and support.
Sincerely,
Monica Armster Rainge
Deputy Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights
