HRM: Submitting requests for medical or religious accommodation
Medical accommodations
Detailed information about the reasonable accommodation process for individuals with disabilities is available on the HRM Reasonable Accommodations website (internal link). Please visit this website to learn about the submission process as well as to download the required submission forms.
A directory that identifies reasonable accommodations specialists assigned by region, station or other major work unit is also available.
Religious accommodations
If you are requesting a religious accommodation related to the requirement for all federal executive branch employees to be fully vaccinated by Nov. 22, 2021, you will need to complete the two required forms (religious accommodations questionnaire and form) and email them to: francesca.ramunda@usda.gov.
We are accepting all requests for religious accommodations at this time, but we are not able to begin processing them until additional guidance is released from USDA, which is expected by the end of September. We appreciate your patience.
Supervisor responsibilities
Supervisors of employees requesting either a medical or religious accommodation will be required to actively engage in the interactive process. This includes identifying the essential functions of an employee’s position, discussing limitations and options, and implementing final decisions. The reasonable accommodations specialist will guide the supervisor and employee throughout the process.
Help is available
