Native American Heritage Month: Learn about agency-administered federal-tribal projects

WASHINGTON, D.C.—National American Indian/Alaska Native Heritage Month is observed annually during the month of November. The USDA Forest Service honors the contributions, both past and present, of American Indian and Alaska Natives for their profound and positive influence on our country and agency.
The theme for American Indian/Alaska Native Heritage Month 2021 is Together Towards Tomorrow. Please join us for an hour-long virtual event on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. (EDT) to celebrate American Indian/Alaska Native Heritage Month and learn about various federal-tribal projects administered by the USDA Forest Service. Guest presenters include:
- Michelle Putz, Sitka Ranger District NEPA Planner, Tongass National Forest
- Nolan Colegrove, Orleans District Ranger, Six Rivers National Forest
- R. Heath Bailey, Archeologist/Heritage Program Manager, Carson National Forest
