WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Senior Leader Program is critical to the agency’s leadership development program and key to succession planning. To date, more than 300 agency leaders have graduated from SLP. The program’s curriculum and learning activities are aligned with the leadership competency framework developed by the Office of Personnel Management, the Department of Agriculture, and the agency. The program is further enhanced by experiential learning around the Forest Service This is Who We Are and engagement with executive leadership, coaches, partners and peers.

We are pleased to announce the Executive Leadership Team’s selections for the Forest Service Senior Leader Program Class of 2022. The 2022 SLP class is made up of 27 SLP-15 cohort members (delayed since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic) and 12 newly selected cohort members (selected through a special call that was announced in fall 2021).

The SLP 2022 cohort will engage in a year-long transformative experience. The newly refreshed SLP features senior leader engagements, peer learning and dialogue, opportunities for self-reflection and journaling, and a newly designed team-based learning journey.
