Internship provides opportunity to help with pioneering research
Salmon-Challis National Forest partnered with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game to sponsor a high school internship for a student interested in studying environmental sex determination in brook trout.
The internship involves pioneering research that has never been done on trout. Brook Schill, a senior at Capital High School in Boise, Idaho, completed the first year of the three-year project in 2016. She presented a poster covering the first year at the joint meeting of the American Fisheries Society and The Wildlife Society in Boise.
