PSW video highlights experimental watershed research
In conjunction with World Water Day March 22, Pacific Southwest Research Station released a video highlighting the benefits of watershed research and its use by land managers.
PSW scientists and collaborators have been conducting research on the Kings River Experimental Watershed within California’s Sierra National Forest since 2000. Data collected at KREW includes water yield and water quality indicators influenced by common fuel treatments, such as forest thinning and prescribed burning.
The results help land managers understand the short- and long-term effects of these forest management practices.
