Trash No Land volunteers joined Mt. Hood National Forest employees and the Clackamas County Dumpstoppers for a Clean-up Event. On this rainy, cold morning tons of trash were removed from a popular target shooting area by 20 hardy volunteers.

Trash No Land is a new organization formed by target shooting enthusiasts who support responsible use of public lands.  Additionally, the event was supported by Northwest Firearms.com. 

In the past, volunteers manned target shooting information booths in the forest, staffed tables at local sporting goods stores and hosted several similar clean-ups, greatly assisting the forest in educating target shooters about responsible target shooting.

Why are these efforts necessary? Past experience has shown that public shooting areas are prone to trash dumping. This can result from a lack of knowledge or a lack of understanding the expectations for appropriate behaviors when using these sites. Site users are taught to pack out what they have packed in. Trash No Land creates educational events and hands-on clean-up events to reinforce educational messages about appropriate behaviors and the need to protect the beauty of public lands.  The organization reaches out to shooters to restore respectable recreational shooting behaviors on public land.
