R&D Staff Showcases Accomplishments at Congressional Event
On April 5, Forest Service Research and Development Directors Tracy Hancock and Susan Stein took the opportunity to highlight some Forest Service research programs and accomplishments at the Agricultural Research Congressional Exhibition and Reception.
This widely attended event profiled cutting-edge USDA-funded researchers and projects from science agencies and universities nationwide. The event was hosted in partnership with the Agriculture and Food Research Initiative Coalition, the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities, the National Coalition for Food and Agriculture Research, and Supporters of Agricultural Research Foundation.
Sen. John Hoeven, R-N.D., from the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry and Reps. Kenneth Michael Conaway, R-Texas, Rodney Davis, R-Ill., Roger Marshall, R-Kan., and Jimmy Panetta, D-Calif., from the House Committee on Agriculture attended the event and learned how Forest Service researchers are delivering knowledge and technologies to improve the health of forests and grasslands.
