Hope, West Virginia. Monongahela Forest Supervisor Clyde Thompson and Acting Under Secretary of Agriculture for Natural Resources and Environment Dan Jiron attended a luncheon provided by the Boy Scouts of America.

Forest Service and USDA representatives also visited the Jamboree exhibits, one of which was the Forest Service’s Jamboree National Forest, recognized as one of the best attractions at the Jamboree. The exhibit celebrates the 120th anniversary of the Organic Act, highlights the upcoming 50th anniversary of the National Trails System and Wild and Scenic Rivers Acts, and unveiled the Unmanned Aerial Systems Educational Campaign.

Thirty-five Forest Service employees, eight retirees and six volunteers worked at the Jamboree, including staff from the Monongahela National Forest’s Gauley Ranger District. The National Boy Scout Jamboree is held once every four years. The Forest Service has participated in this event since 1967.
