- Approximately 40 Type 2 Initial Attack Crews (contract)
- 320 Smokejumpers operating from bases in California, Oregon, Washington, Montana, and Idaho
- 900 Wildland Fire Engines
- 210 pieces of heavy equipment (bulldozers, water tenders, tractor plows)
- 21 Airtankers available continuously for wildfire suppression nationwide (20 through Exclusive Use contracts and one U.S. Forest Service)
- Up to five Airtankers available through Call When Needed contracts
- Up to 8 military C-130s equipped with Modular Airborne Fire Fighting Systems (MAFFS)
- Up to four CL-415 Water Scoopers (two through Exclusive Use contracts and two through Call When Needed contracts)
- Up to 200 helicopters available for wildfire suppression nationwide, including 28 Type 1 (heavy) helicopters; 33 Type 2 (medium) helicopters, and; 46 Type 3 (light) helicopters through Exclusive Use contracts.
- Approximately 200 helicopters of all types may also be available through Call When Needed contracts
