WASHINGTON, DC—The Forest Service is home to employees who believe in service to each other, the public, and to the planet. We have an opportunity again this year to make a difference to many people by serving and supporting meaningful causes through the Combined Federal Campaign.

The CFC is the official workplace giving campaign for federal employees and retirees. This year’s theme remains “You can be the Face of Change.” Based on positive feedback and participation last year, the Forest Service will again execute a similar agency-wide, virtual CFC campaign.

Last year, Forest Service employees pledged $429,500. If you have pledged before, the online giving platform makes it quick and easy to renew your gift. If you are new to the CFC, please visit GiveCFC.org to learn how you can join the community. Your gift will remain anonymous unless you choose otherwise, and the contributions you make will support charities through unrestricted funds, helping them respond wherever the need is the greatest. Here's how it works:

  • First, choose your cause. Whether you care about protecting the environment, helping communities recover from disaster, finding cures for diseases, or promoting equality for all, the CFC has vetted charities for any cause you want to support. You can even give to multiple charities with one pledge.
  • Second, make your pledge. The most popular giving option, the online pledge portal, allows you to easily renew your pledge each year and offers the full range of pledge options including payroll deduction, credit/debit card, E-check/bank transfer, and volunteer hours.

The campaign runs through Jan. 14, 2023, and our Chief Financial Officer deputy area is leading this year's coordination for the Forest Service with support from a deputy area, region and station purpose-driven team of volunteers and coordinators across the agency. The acts of service that we provide to the people, communities and country have always been unique and reflect the proud heritage of this agency. With our combined efforts as employees of the Forest Service, we will once again make a difference by changing the world together.
