The Forest Service actively recruits and hires Presidential Management Fellows (PMFs) annually. After the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) announces them, the Forest Service PMF network reaches out to finalists with backgrounds that match our current Agency needs. We also attend the virtual OPM Job Fair each year to be able to recruit and meet PMF finalists in person.

We are committed to hiring a diverse pool of employees that can contribute a broad variety of skillsets to the Agency. One of the reasons we value the PMF program is because of the new perspectives and skills Fellows can bring. Even if you do not come from a traditional natural resources background, we encourage you to consider working with us at the Forest Service!
