28 - REQUIRED OCCUPANCY . The Regional Forester delegates authority to approve required occupancy to Director, Procurement & Property Staff Unit or his designated acting.

Complete FS Form 6400-21, Required Occupancy Certificate, through Part III, block 5, then Forest Supervisor or his designated acting shall sign and forward to the RO for approval in block 6.

Employees who are required to live in Government quarters may be able to claim an income tax adjustment to their gross income. Employees should contact their local Internal Revenue Service for instructions on filing this adjustment (Reference 26 US Code 119(a)).
