CHAPTER 7140 - GEOMETRONICS

7141 - GEOMETRONICS ADMINISTRATION

7141.04 - Responsibility

2. Regional Forester . The RO Engineering Staff Unit Director has been delegated the responsibility for the technical operations in the general field of Geometronics. This includes the responsibility to develop a Geometronics program that fully meets the objectives of FSM 7140.

3. Forest Supervisor . The Forest Supervisor shall:

a. Ensure that Geometronics products and services are effectively utilized for land and resource management activities.

b. Submit by July 1 the programmed mapping needs of the Forest for the following fiscal year. See FSM 1631 for justification requirements for public information documents.

c. Designate an individual to serve as liaison between the National Forest and the Geometronics Group for all Geometronics products and services.

7143 - CARTOGRAPHIC PRODUCTS

7143.04 - Responsibility . The Forest Supervisor shall ensure that all cartographic products developed or sold on the National Forest are properly edited and approved by the Geometronics Group before distribution.

The Geometronics Group Leader shall:

1. Prepare annually a listing by National Forest of approved cartographic products.

2. Coordinate review of cartographic products with other related Staff Units.

7145 - REMOTE SENSING

7145.1 - Standard Aerial Photography

7145.12 - Selections and Approvals. The RO Engineering Staff Unit Director has the authority for approval of all standard aerial photography.

7145.3 - Satellite-Related Imagery

7145.31 - Approvals . The RO Engineering Staff Unit Director shall coordinate all requests for satellite-related imagery.

7145.4 - Other Aircraft Sensor Systems

7145.41 - Approvals. The RO Engineering Staff Unit Director shall coordinate all other aircraft
