Chesapeake Bay Program launches two websites to promote planting, protection of trees
The Forest Service partnered with Chesapeake Bay Program’s Forestry Workgroup and the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay to create two websites — Chesapeake Riparian Forest Buffer Network and Chesapeake Tree Canopy Network. These websites will help state agencies, local communities and others active in forest restoration. Chesapeake Bay states have committed to strong goals for riparian forest buffers and expanded tree canopy to improve water quality in the bay, which does not currently meet the standards of the Clean Water Act.
