MONTANA — In 2017, the residents of Montana and northern Idaho underwent an intense and challenging fire season that had significant impacts on the many communities we serve. Snow is now in the mountains, yet a tremendous amount of work remains.
To address this need, the Forest Service Northern Region has prioritized post-fire recovery work and allocated the necessary resources to provide a consistent and efficient approach to Burned Area Emergency Response, post-fire harvest and reforestation.
To help communicate leader’s intent to all employees throughout the Region, Regional Forester Leanne Marten, Lolo National Forest Supervisor Tim Garcia and Kootenai National Forest Supervisor Chris Savage went on camera to discuss the benefits of a coordinated post-fire response in this leader’s intent video.
A website was also created to provide one-stop shopping for those seeking more post-fire response information.
