From the Chief's Desk: Thank you for your service
There is no better time to recognize all our employees have done than this week, Public Service Recognition Week. Under Secretary for Natural Resources and Environment Homer Wilkes and I have partnered up this week to share our gratitude with you.
We want to underscore our appreciation for all you do as public servants, be it from a forest or grassland, a regional office or research station, or in the national office.
We have both had the privilege of serving the public for more than 40 years, and we are both so thoroughly impressed and humbled by the talent, professionalism, dedication and passion that Forest Service employees bring to bear. So much has been asked of you and your families, and we thank you for choosing to lend your skills and talent to the Forest Service.
Our most important resources are our employees. The crucial work of the Forest Service is critical to the American people, and it cannot occur without each and every one of you. As your leaders we are committed to promoting a safe, resilient and harassment-free work culture where all of you are supported and treated with dignity and respect.
Thank you for your service.
