This service is available to all employees and their families, regardless of appointment type or duration, including those in 1039 (temporary) and administratively determined appointments as well as permanent full-time, permanent part-time, permanent seasonal and Pathways employees. Further, employees and their families may continue to use EAP up to six months after separation from employment.

There are various ways to access care and support, including in-person, video, telephone, chat/text or online messaging counseling. Our goal is to make sure everyone receives consistent, quality support and services via whatever method they are most comfortable with.

Espyr offers a 24/7 toll-free line, and all calls will be answered by certified clinicians. Further, clinicians with experience supporting first responders (fire and law enforcement) will be available to assist you. Please see this Espyr information sheet and these EAP FAQs for more information (internal links).

While Espyr is now available to provide support to the majority of the Forest Service, Regions 1, 3, 4, 6 and the Pacific Northwest Research Station will continue under their existing contracts/vendors and transition to this new EAP service once their existing contracts end.

We understand there may be a bit of confusion as we transition to an agency-wide contract, but we are confident that this transition will lead to expanded and consistent care for all employees.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Shelly Pacheco at or 505-328-5725.
