The 2019 Disaster Assistance Support Program orientation application is now available. The orientation will be held in Tucson, Arizona, from October 23-24.
The deadline for this application is 5:00 PM (EST), September 6, 2019. All selections and notifications will be announced via email directly to the individual by Friday, September 20, 2019.
The USDA Forest Service’s Office of International Programs will offer one 16-hour orientation course to introduce USDA Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and National Parks Service personnel to the DASP and its partnership with the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Office of U.S Foreign Disaster Assistance. The session will also provide an introduction to the response options exercised by USAID/OFDA to support disaster-affected countries.

Please read the entire application package, especially the Applicant Requirements section, to ensure candidates qualify for this orientation. Any incomplete, partial or "group" applications will not be accepted. DASP generally receives many more applications than we have space for candidates. Among other factors, DASP uses the quality of the applications to select candidates for this course. If you have applied to this announcement in the past, we highly encourage you to do so again, as the need for detailers with evolving, multi-faceted experiences and skills continues to grow.
