HR: 2019 pay raise, retroactive pay adjustments

General Schedule employees (including Law Enforcement Officers) will receive a 1.4 percent basic pay raise for 2019 in addition to the locality rate increase. The pay raise will be retroactively effective to the beginning of pay period 1, 2019 (Jan. 6).

The pay raise and retroactive pay adjustments will be processed starting March 31; most employees should see the pay adjustments by the end of May. We anticipate all employees will receive the adjustments by July 15. We appreciate your patience during this time.

Federal Wage Service are handled separately from the GS pay raise. For more information, visit the Office of Personnel Management Federal Wage System website

Senior Executive, scientists and senior leader salary increases are performance-based and will be managed by USDA.

What you need to do

Employees need to verify they have received the pay raise on their earnings and leave statements, which are available through the Employee Personal page. The adjustment information should be in the remarks section in the pay period it is processed.

Employees who do not receive the pay raise adjustments by July 15 should open an HR Help case.

Employees should not submit any corrected time sheets until they see the pay adjustment for the previous pay periods in their earnings and leave statements.
