HRM: July 4 early dismissal clarification

July 7, 2021

HRM Header

On July 2, 2021, USDA Secretary Vilsack authorized a two-hour early departure from work in celebration of Fourth of July. Some employees were unable to participate in this early departure due to mission critical needs or it being a non-workday.

Supervisors should work with those employees to identify another day within the next two weeks (July 5–17) to participate in the two-hour early departure.

Non-workday can include employees who are normally scheduled off on Fridays, flexed and worked their 80 base hours prior to Friday or were on scheduled leave (will need to code the entire day on Friday to requested leave).

What you need to do

Supervisor approval is required to participate in the two-hour early departure.

Employees will code their timesheet using administrative leave, transaction code 66 for the early departure.
