USDA Secretary Vilsack has authorized Chief Christiansen to allow a two-hour early departure for Forest Service employees today in celebration of Public Service Recognition Week.

Supervisors should identify another day within the next week to provide a two-hour early departure for employees who are out of the office or unable to participate in the early departure today due to mission critical needs.

What You Need to Do

Supervisor approval is required to participate in the two-hour early departure. 

Employees will code their timesheet using administrative leave, transaction code 66 for the early departure. 

Employees who are unable to participate in the early departure today due to mission critical needs will code their timesheet as normal using TC “01” official time.
