NEW MEXICO – Since 2009, federal employees have shown their tremendous generosity by participating in the Feds Feed Families campaign. Do Right and Feed Everyone was the 2019 theme, and the Albuquerque Service Center did just that.
ASC employees collected over 103,434 pounds of food, in addition to donations made directly to food pantries and animal shelters totaling 217,930 meals to feed hungry New Mexicans. All donations collected went to the Roadrunner Food Bank and its network to provide food to people in need across the state of New Mexico.
Each ASC’s seven program areas hosted several opportunities to collect donations, including team-building events and field and warehouse gleaning events. Volunteering at the food bank has proven to be beneficial to both their work environment and community. These opportunities for giving unite the ASC and provide much-needed support for local communities.
ASC continues making a difference one meal at a time. Next year, they are loking forward to beating their best donations to date.
