Around the Forest Service: January 2024

January 31, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Smokey Bear and USDA Forest Service packers and mules were up before dawn getting ready to take their stroll down historic Colorado Boulevard for the 135th Rose Parade.

For over 50 years, through partnerships, national forests and grasslands across the country, the Endangered Species Act has helped prevent 99% of all fish, wildlife and plants from going extinct.

The Forest Service, North American Forest Commission, Canadian Forest Service, CONAFOR Comisión Nacional Forestal, and the Food Agriculture Organization of Forestry met in Guadalajara, Mexico, to stand up a North American Forest Communicators Network to expand international forest communication efforts.

All this and more this month Around the Forest Service.
