WASHINGTON, DC—In the Forest Service, we must uphold civil rights principles in the workplace and put our best agency values into action. But how do we get and stay inspired to do this? One way is to learn more about the civil rights leaders who came before and continue to influence us today. When we study these former leaders, we gain insight into their struggles, successes, and strategies for putting their values into action.

The film, "John Lewis: Good Trouble," follows the late civil rights leader's life of more than 60 years of activism—from a bold teenager on the movement's front lines to a legislative powerhouse. To honor his legacy, we encourage Forest Service employees to view the film and attend a one-hour panel discussion on Feb. 28, 2023, at 12 p.m. EST, hosted by the Office of Civil Rights.

Employees who want to view this free 96-minute film or get the discussion link can contact William Reichhardt, william.reichardt@usda.gov. Licensed seats are limited. Film viewing prior to the discussion is encouraged but not required.
