New book on nonmarket valuation provides tools to value ecosystem goods, services
For years people have tried to accurately and creatively value ecosystem goods and services, like clean water, flood protection and snowpack retention. Research economists Patricia Champ and Tom Brown, along with Kevin Boyle of Virginia Tech, co-led the production of “A Primer on Nonmarket Valuation — Second Edition.” The book represents a unique collaboration among 15 authors with a goal of creating a comprehensive practical guide to nonmarket valuation, with step-by-step instructions for conducting surveys, market assessments and more.
The book is available for purchase.
