Science You Can Use Spring 2024 webinar series, hosted by RMRS

Join the Rocky Mountain Research Station for the annual Science You Can Use webinar series taking place on Wednesdays this spring. This series will focus our newest science about aspects of land management with land managers being our key audience. Each presentation, beginning at 10:00 a.m. MST, will be 30 minutes long, followed by a 30-minute Q&A and discussion. All presenters are Rocky Mountain Research Station scientists unless otherwise noted. Please see the flyer below for connection information.

Events will include:

  • February 14 – Wildfire and resilient landscapes: New tools for detailed analyses

  • February 21 – Streams, springs, and fens! Assessing riparian and groundwater-dependent ecosystems for forest plan revision

  • February 28 – Pinyon-juniper treatments optimized: With considerations for sagebrush conservation, pinyon jays, and songbirds

  • March 6 – Biochar production, benefits, and barriers in forested lands

  • March 13 – Prescribed fire and wilderness: Barriers and opportunities in a time of change

  • March 20 – The effects of timber harvest on grizzly bear habitat use and diet

  • March 27 – TreeMap is a tree-level model of U.S. forests. New data delivery and visualization improvements make it easier to use

  • April 10 – Quantifying old-growth forest of United States Forest Service public lands
