2017 Rodman Dam Litigation

On October 10, 2017, the Florida Defenders of the Environment filed a complaint against the United States Forest Service (USFS).  The plaintiff alleges that the USFS has violated federal laws (FLPMA, NEPA) by allowing the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to continue to occupy the land associated with Rodman Dam wihtout a valid special use permit.  The case name is officially "Florida Defenders of the Environment, Bruce Kaster and Joseph Little v. USFS, No 3:17-cv-01128-HES-JBT(MD, FL)."

Travel Management

Travel Analysis Report Now Available

The Forest Service has released all the Travel Analysis Reports that analyze the existing National Forest road system and identifies opportunities to achieve a more ecologically and economically sustainable road system for each National Forest and Grassland.

These reports are part of a nationwide requirement and are not decision documents—instead, they provide an analysis of the road system as it exists today.  All future proposed actions and decisions will allow for further opportunities for public input and engagement at the project-level under National Environmental Policy Act processes.

Law Enforcement and Investigation
