One way El Yunque contributes to the economies of local communities is through contracting with various local businesses and citizens for the procurement and acquisition of goods and services in support of the Forest Service mission. Services are provided through contracts, purchasing, and other various contract tools.

Region 8 has developed a guide to assist you in getting started: “Doing Business with the Forest Service- How to Win Government Contracts- One Step at a Time”.  Hopefully this manual will answer all or most of the questions you may have about the procurement process and working with the federal government.  This handbook includes:
