Embracing the philosophy of Gifford Pinchot’s idea of preservation through use, Grey Towers also functions as an active conference center for conservation and natural resource issues. In his donation of the house and nearby grounds to the Forest Service, Gifford Bryce Pinchot wanted the conservation ideology of his father continued and the site used to further that cause. To that end, legislation from Congress limits the use of the space to groups that focus on conservation and natural resource issues. The estate provides an inspirational setting with many different conference accommodations.
