The National Forests are reaching out to more Americans on behalf of conservation. From Smokey Bear, to NatureWatch, and Project Learning Tree, the Forest Service is working across programs and disciplines to integrate conservation education into much of what we do.
Along with other federal agencies, we participate in a program called “Every Kid Outdoors.” The Every Kid Outdoors (EKO) pass is a special program initiated by the U.S. Forest Service and other federal agencies that grants fourth grade students (and their families) free access to over 2,000 federally managed lands and waters across the United States, including our very own North Carolina National Forest.
