The Shawnee National Forest is seeking candidates to fill:  

  • Four Forestry Technician part-time WAE (While Actually Employed, 18/8) positions in Recreation/Trails (GS-0462-05)
  • One Forestry Technician full-time permanent position in Recreation/Trails (GS-0462-05)

Duty stations for both are located at the Ranger Station in Vienna, Illinois or Jonesboro, Illinois. These positions carry out a variety of project plans, and annual operations and maintenance, in support of the unit’s recreation and trails program. The WAE positions would be provided 18 pay periods of employment each year with employment during the remaining 8 pay periods subject to available budget. WAE positions are considered permanent and have access to benefits.

Job Outreaches

Supervisory Forestry Technician (Engine Captain) -GS-0462-7/8.  This is a permanent full-time position with the duty station in Vienna, IL. The primary purpose of this position is to perform as a first line supervisor on a Type 6 Engine Module.
