Landowners, producers, agencies and organizations all have a variety of social, environmental and financial goals, concerns and desires. They all rely on a variety of approaches and tools to address and achieve their objectives. Agroforestry systems can be designed to achieve multiple goals.

The USDA National Agroforestry Center (NAC) has identified key topics that are of wide concern today where agroforestry systems can play a part. Within each key topic you can find research and outreach that NAC is engaged with to address these key topics. Also included on these pages are tools, relevant publications, and links to other agencies and partners that are helping to increase the understanding of how agroforestry can be used today to improve our nation’s food production and conservation efforts.
