Volunteer snow rangers with the Clear Creek Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests are gearing up for their fifth season on the mountain at Loveland Ski Area. Volunteer snow rangers offer programs on the second Wednesday and last Saturday of each month from January through April. They lead visitors on a ski/snowboard tour along intermediate runs from the Ptarmigan Roost Warming Hut to the base of Tango Road.
The theme is “Loveland is an Amazing Example of Interrelationships,” participants learn about the physical alpine setting and its impact on plants and animals and local human history in fun and interactive stops along the way.
The tour is appropriate for children 10 and up and kids must be accompanied by adults. To take part in the one and one-half hour tour, simply show up at the Ptarmigan Roost Warming Hut on time for a scheduled program.
