The Chippewa National Forest will be hosting a Youth Archaeology Workshop at the Norway Beach Recreation Area near Cass Lake, MN.  The purpose of the Workshop is to offer local youth an opportunity to learn about archaeology as well as the fascinating history of the Chippewa National Forest through hands-on experience working with professional archaeologists engaged in archaeological research.  We are planning for a small group of 6th and 7th grade students (entering 6th or 7th grade in the fall or who completed 6th or 7th grade this year).

Participants will spend three days working alongside the Forest Service archaeologist, Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Heritage Sites Program archaeologists, and other National Forest staff. For more information and an application click here.
