    Date: June 15, July 15, July 20, and August 12 at dusk-approx. 10p.m.

    Where: Bay Furnace Campground in Christmas-At day use area

    Description: June 15th-This will be a good night to view Saturn!  A medium-sized or larger telescope will allow you to see Saturn’s rings and a few of its brightest moons.  July 15th-At local sunset, sky-watchers should look for the thin waxing crescent moon to appear in a stunningly close encounter with the plant Venus low in the southwestern sky. July 20th-The moon and Jupiter will make a close approach.  The pair will become visible between 9:30 and 10p.m. as the dusk sky fades., August 12th-Considered one of the most intense annual meteor showers, the Perseids regularly produce up to 60 shooting starts an hour at their peak.
