  • Oregon Beach Bill 50th Anniversary BioBlitz

    Come explore Oregon’s coastal waters while celebrating 50 years of public access to beaches. Participants will enjoy a weekend of citizen science activities aimed at helping local scientists better catalogue and monitor the species of the region. This program is free. Bring your waterproof shoes, raincoat, binoculars, water and snacks.

    • May 26th, Friday, 4:30pm-5:30pm: Sea star wasting disease presentation at the Cape Perpetua Visitor center.
    • May 27th, Saturday, 8:00am-12:00pm: Meeting at Cape Pepetua Visitor Center for a short training and location assignments before the Bioblitz begins.
    • May 28th, Sunday, 9:00am-2:00pm: Meeting at Cape Perpetua Visitor Center for location assignments. Following the Bioblitz we will celebrate with a picnic at Neptune State Park.

    Age group: All ages

    Fees: These events are free, but a Northwest Forest Pass, Oregon Coast Passport, federal recreation pass, or $5 day-use fee is required within the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area.
