  Tour the heavens from a star-studded location with local astronomers. Meet at Bald Mountain Helitack Base, east of Long Bar, on Hwy 108. Program may be canceled due to fire activity or weather. Check the Stanislaus National Forest Facebook page to confirm or call Summit Ranger Station. Bring chair or blanket. Smoking, glass containers, and dogs are prohibited. All Ages. Suggested donation: $2 a person

  Join a Forest Service Ranger to learn how to identify the trees on the Stanislaus National Forest. We will look at samples and then head to the Shadow of the Mi-wok Trail to identify trees near Meadowview Campground. Bring water, a hat, and wear sturdy walking shoes. All Ages.

  Join Ranger Asley to look for birds along the Westside Trail. This is a great place to see hawks, and songbirds foraging in the forest. Bring a pair of binoculars or borrow a pair of ours. We will have identification guides.

  Wear a hat, bring water, and a snack. Please no dogs for the program. The closest bathroom is the Riverside Day Use area.
