Middle Fork Re-opened for recreational use

The Middle Fork of the Flathead River is re-opened for limited recreational use, according to Paula Peterson, resource assistant for the Hungry Horse Ranger District. River users still may not land and take out of the river on the Glacier National Park side of the river from the Paola Creek access point to the West Glacier access, due to continuing fire activity.

Peterson urged users to exercise caution when in the area, noting that firefighters still are in the area because the Ramage and Middle Fork fire complexes are still burning on the Glacier Park side of the river.
