West Side Road open to the Hungry Horse Dam

The west side reservoir (upper dam) road will re-open to the visitor center on Friday, September 12, 2003, however the public cannot drive across the dam. Lion Lake, South Fork River Road, Moter-cross track and lower Dam road will also re-open. The remainder of the west side road and west of the south Fork River will remain closed indefinitely. Jimmy DeHerrera said, "The firefighters are still mopping up the areas where the fire went down to the reservoir and snagging out the road." "We will keep the road closed for now and revisit it with the new fire management team."
