A: Stage II Fire Restrictions are in effect in the county and in National Forest and National Park lands. Everyone is encouraged to be mindful of any activity, piece of equipment, or vehicle that might omit sparks or ignite fires. Campfires, charcoal grills, smoking without a 3-foot cleared area, and operating motorized vehicles off designated roads and trails is prohibited. Officials indicate that they will fine and/or arrest individuals starting fires. See the following website for details.
A: Horses wearing borium horse shoes are in danger of throwing sparks that could start fires. They should be removed or owners should have the horses wear protective rubber "horse booties."
