PORTION OF NORTH FORK RIVER TO BE RE-OPENED
The North Fork of the Flathead River from Polebridge to Big Creek river access will be open beginning 10am August 31, 2003. The public must take out at Big Creek, this is mandatory. Below Big Creek, the river and National Forest on either side of the North Fork road will remain closed through the burned area. The Forest Service will patrol the area and post staff at Polebridge and Big Creek River Access sites. The Big Creek Campground will be open for overnight use. Glacier Institute Education Center may operate on a limited basis as well.
The west side of the North Fork road remains closed to public use, this
includes all roads that leave the North Fork road to the west.
