Hungry Horse Ranger District Extends Middle Fork Closure
Hungry Horse, MT - Officials with the Hungry Horse Ranger District have extended the closure of the Middle Fork Flathead River by 25 miles, due to increasing fire activity in the Rampage Complex, which is burning 21 miles SE of West Glacier.
This action extends the Middle Fork closure upstream from Cascadilla to Bear Creek. The downstream boundary of the river closure is at the town of West Glacier.
This closure applies to all uses of the Middle Fork, including rafting and fishing.
Because the public safety issues at the Stanton Lake fire in the Great Bear Wilderness have diminished with control of the fire, the area closure order for that fire has been lifted.
