The Pacific Northwest Research Station's Forest Inventory and Analysis (PNW-FIA) program has inventoried the Pacific Coast States since the 1930s. Although the mission has expanded over the years, we continue to invest in high-quality data collection brought to the public safely and efficiently. From testing new sampling methods and tools to refining the basics in forest inventory technique, the PNW-FIA Data Collection team within the Resource Monitoring and Assessment program is working hard to bring high-quality, relevant, and reliable data to meet the FIA program's fundamental data needs.
