A series of three infographics that explain what megafires are, why they are becoming more common due to historical fire suppression practices, and available methods (i.e., prescribed burns, managed wildfires, and mechanical thinning) for managing and preventing severe fire.
These infographics are based on fire research by station scientist, Paul Hessburg, and his partnership with North 40 Productions to present these findings in a unique, multimedia format entitled, Era of Megafires. You can find more information about the Era of Megafires presentation at the North 40 Productions website.
