Forest Supervisor Scott Fitzwilliams signed a Record of Decision for the White River National Forest Travel Management Plan (TMP) on March 17, 2011. In the year following the decision, public and staff identified corrections, oversights, and clarifications to the TMP. Corrections do not change the intent of the decision. See the documents and maps under Corrections.
The Travel Management Plan proved to be a comprehensive decision that shows how the WRNF can provide for the variety of travel that is used across its lands. To meet our mission, we realize we periodically may need to examine whether the travel system is serving the public and meeting resource protection goals. As new ideas and proposals are brought forward we will actively seek to see whether we need to update the TMP. We will provide updates on this web site so you can see what proposals and decisions are being made for travel management. Please feel free to contact any of our offices for further information.
