Sequoia and Sierra National Forests Land Management Plans Revision
We are now at an important milestone in revising the forest plans for the Sequoia and Sierra National Forests. The Forest Service has been working with the tribes, local, state and federal agencies, and the public on forest plan revision and we appreciate your patience and involvement throughout this process.
We are pleased to inform you that we initiated the pre-decisional administrative review process (also known as the objection process) for the final environmental impact statement (FEIS), revised land management plans, draft records of decision, and the species of conservation concern lists for the Sequoia and Sierra National Forests on June 14, 2022. If you wish to file an objection, you must do so in writing by August 15, 2022. In order to file an objection, you must have previously submitted substantive comments during the planning process. More information about how to participate in the objection process can be found at the plan revision homepage. Geospatial data can be viewed in the ArcGIS Online (AGOL) Interactive Web Map Sequoia and Sierra National Forests Plan Revision FEIS: Alternatives and Data Viewer.
Objections can be submitted via the fillable objection submittal form available on the project website at the following link: https://cara.fs2c.usda.gov/Public/CommentInput?project=3375 ; by regular mail, express delivery, or hand-delivery at the following address: Objection Reviewing Officer, Deputy Regional Forester Elizabeth Berger, USDA Forest Service Pacific Southwest Region, 1323 Club Drive, Vallejo, CA 94592; or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org in plain text (.txt), rich text format (.rtf), or Word (.doc) format with subject: ?Sierra and Sequoia National Forests Plan Revision Objection? or with the subject: ?Sierra [and/or] Sequoia National Forest Species of Conservation Concern Objection.?
On July 12 and 13, 2022 the Forest Service held virtual public meetings to provide information about the release of revised forest plan documents and draft records of decision, and the administrative review (objection) process. The presentations from these meetings, as well as a Questions and Answers document that shares the public questions received as part of these meetings, and responses to those questions is available in the project documents folder below.
