The Forest Service is proposing vegetation thinning within a 518,000-acre project area on the NKRD by using prescribed fire and small-dia. tree thinning resulting in 319,000 acres of fuels treatments, and forest vegetation and watershed improvements.

Location Summary

Project includes approximately 518,000 acres of the Kaibab Plateau on the North Kaibab Ranger District of the Kaibab National Forest. Wilderness and sensitive areas will be excluded from treatment.

District: North Kaibab Ranger District
