Mud Creek Vegetation Management Project

The purpose of the Mud Creek Project is to design and implement a suitable transportation system and improve landscape resilience to disturbances, such as insects, diseases, and fire.

The comment period for the Mud Creek Project Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) ended on April 20, 2021. The Forest Service will use comments received to prepare a final EA. If you have questions about the project, you may contact the West Fork District Ranger at (406) 821-1212. On April 6, 2021, the forest hosted a public webinar to provide information and answer questions about the draft EA. You can access a recording of the webinar using this link.

Location Summary

Project is located in the Mud Creek watershed and portions of the Nelson Lake, Little West Fork, Lloyd Creek, Lower Blue Joint, and Painted Rocks watershed areas of the Bitterroot Mountains.
