Piru Creek Wild and Scenic River (WSR) - Comprehensive River Management Plan (CRMP)
The comment period has ended for this Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and revised Comprehensive River Management Plan (CRMP) for Piru Creek Wild and Scenic River. The Piru Creek Wild and Scenic River designation covers approximately 7.25 miles of river, managed by both the Angeles and Los Padres National Forests. The CRMP focuses on the following: · Resource protection, land use, user capacity, and other management practices · Protection of outstandingly remarkable values · Maintenance of free-flowing conditions and water quality A Final EA with all appendices, a Draft Decison Notice, and responses to comments received will be available in February 2025, concurrent to publication of a legal notice which will officially open the Objection period. Location Summary
Piru Creek WSR begins 0.5 miles below Pyramid Dam, near the "grapevine" of Interstate 5. It ends at the Los Angeles and Ventura County line approximately 7.25 river miles downstream.
Forests: Angeles National Forest All Units, Mt. Pinos Ranger District
